Medicinal Chemistry
In spite of highly advanced technologies related to the development of synthetic new drug, it has not been satisfactory to find efficient drug candidates in
the respect of proper safety and efficacy. Our research group obtained novel small molecules with our own intellectual properties, which showed excellent 
therapeutic properties in the area of allergic diseases caused by dysregulation of immune system. We perform our project to suggest new strong alternatives
against existing known drugs, and try to overcome their clinical limits.
Pharmacology
The developmental feasibility of substances is studied through the biological assays and the animal disease model experiments. 
Especially, we set up the ex vivo assay system that can monitor the improvement of endothelial dysfunction in blood vessels. Through the screening of 
several hundreds of Korean homegrown plants, we discovered herbal medicine candidates for the protection from cardiovascular problems.
We continuously try to study the efficacy using biochemical methods and animal models, the pharmacological kinetics including absorption, distribution,
metabolism and excretion, and the safety using animal toxicology experiments for our drug discovery programs.
Herbal Medicinal research
One of the major causes for the clinical failures of drug candidates is toxicological problem to human body. Many synthetic compounds had been dropped during late clinical stage for that reason. Herbal medicinal products (botanical drugs) from the plants having been used traditionally become highly regarded in drug discovery research for its proven safety. In particular, Korean authority has been encouraging the herbal medicinal research as the breakthrough for the new drugs in Korean pharmaceutical industry.
At present, we perform the preclinical study for our cardio-protective herbal medicine candidate and continuously try to find new herbal medicine for other indications.
Formulation research
  The final goal of formulation team is successful launching of highly value added generic products based on accumulated technology.
According to research portfolio, these aim will be achieved in domestic and global market successfully applicating core technologies such as spheronization,
 sustained and controlled release and oral disintegrating tablet formulation and assessment
As the processes of new drug discovery and develop are long, complicated and dependent upon expertise of a wide variety of scientific and technical 
group, formulation team collaborated with other research part in R&D center. 
Additionally nutrition product have been developing specialized in health care for NaturaLife in subsidiary company of Hanwha Pharma.
Molecular Modeling
The design of the structural scaffold showing good biological activity is the principle step in small molecule drug discovery research program. We perform 
in silico study to understand the molecular interaction between the compounds and the target protein. The docking studies are mainly used to virtually 
screen the possible active structures among a pool of the chemical structures. This information is helpful with the prioritization of synthetic or biological research.
